Hong Kong Eating Spree Part 3: Desserts 1
Written on 9:19 PM by Penang Tua Pui
Desserts, it is our all time favourite snacks!! Well, who does not like sweet stuffs lingering and teasing our taste buds?? Huat Koay was so excited when he saw these photos I showed him. Hahaha, it just gave him more motivation to go Hong Kong :D
Desserts was another must eat item in our visit to Hong Kong and we purposely planned to make sure we covered as much different types of desserts available.
Still, we did miss quite a few like Moon Kee Handmade Dessert due to insufficient time.
Arrghh.... wished I stayed longer there. So, want to know the sweet memories that Tam Ciak brought back? Well, read on!
This place is all about mangoes and definitely a heaven for the mango fans! Though it is red colour on the outside but the moment you step into the shop, you will see all yellow (or orange) with lots of mangoes displayed all over.
There are a lot of mango varieties available, more than enough to satisfy your craving. From mango ice creams, mango juice, mango pudding to mango mochi, mango salad, mango with glutinous rice balls and the slices of fresh mangoes.
The mangoes used were fresh and nicely cut. You would not see signs of the mangoes over ripe or stored too long. Also, the mangoes tasted sweet too.
Even the ice cream mango was quite mouth watering. The ice cream was not hard one but rather soft as if it was going to melt. The ice cream also came with some kind of jelly (snow jelly) which was quite elastic and bouncy when you put into your mouth… hahaha
Mango mochi was also fanstastic with both the skin and the filling contained mango. Wow, we had gone crazy eating so much mango in a single meal. And best of all, we liked it!!!
The mango with glutinous rice was also another appetizing dish. Maybe it was due to the mango hahaha
Besides these desserts, there were also drinks that you can order.
Hui Lau Shan has many branches in Hong Kong and also other countries like China and USA. You can refer to link below for more information on their desserts selection. The address for the one we went is shown below.
