This is another dessert house that offered a lot of sweet, yummy dessert guaranteed to make your taste buds tantalizing, yearning for more.

The shop has lots of bowls of desserts that were ready for consumption, stored nicely in the refrigerator.

It was almost like you-name-it-they-have-it desserts with a wide range to choose from. Of course, if you prefer hot ones, there are also many types available.

We ordered Honey Dew with Sago, tang yuen in ginger syrup and tau fu fah. Only the tang yuen is hot while the other one is cold dessert. The Honey Dew in Sago tasted good with few balls of honey dew. It was quite similar to the one we have here.

The tang yuen came with ginger syrup and each of them had black sesame filling inside. There was a strong ginger scent but the syrup was not really sweet. This is preferable as what we wanted was to drink the ginger syrup and not sugar syrup.

Meanwhile, the tau fu fah we had was cold and not hot like we normally have. It came with white sugar. The tau fu fah was very smooth yet it did not break easily when you tried to scoop the tau fu fah.

There was more that we wanted to try but our stomach had the limitations. If only Huat Koay and Fei Fei joined me in this eating spree, we would see definitely have more.

Desserts, it is our all time favourite snacks!! Well, who does not like sweet stuffs lingering and teasing our taste buds?? Huat Koay was so excited when he saw these photos I showed him. Hahaha, it just gave him more motivation to go Hong Kong :D

Desserts was another must eat item in our visit to Hong Kong and we purposely planned to make sure we covered as much different types of desserts available.

Still, we did miss quite a few like Moon Kee Handmade Dessert due to insufficient time.

Arrghh.... wished I stayed longer there. So, want to know the sweet memories that Tam Ciak brought back? Well, read on!

This place is all about mangoes and definitely a heaven for the mango fans! Though it is red colour on the outside but the moment you step into the shop, you will see all yellow (or orange) with lots of mangoes displayed all over.

There are a lot of mango varieties available, more than enough to satisfy your craving. From mango ice creams, mango juice, mango pudding to mango mochi, mango salad, mango with glutinous rice balls and the slices of fresh mangoes.

The mangoes used were fresh and nicely cut. You would not see signs of the mangoes over ripe or stored too long. Also, the mangoes tasted sweet too.

Even the ice cream mango was quite mouth watering. The ice cream was not hard one but rather soft as if it was going to melt. The ice cream also came with some kind of jelly (snow jelly) which was quite elastic and bouncy when you put into your mouth… hahaha

Mango mochi was also fanstastic with both the skin and the filling contained mango. Wow, we had gone crazy eating so much mango in a single meal. And best of all, we liked it!!!

The mango with glutinous rice was also another appetizing dish. Maybe it was due to the mango hahaha

Besides these desserts, there were also drinks that you can order.

Har Kau! Siew Mai! Yu Chee Kau! Ma Lai Ko! Cheung Fun! Char Siew Pau!. Those are the items we kept hearing the moment we stepped into this dim sum restaurant.

Wow, hearing these names and coupled with the aroma and fragrance of Hong Kong dim sum diffusing into our senses had us flashing the various dim sum even before we seated. We were so excited and could not wait to eat and eat and eat!

Once we settled down, we quickly had plates and reels of dim sum snacks spread out on our table.

Yummie, the sight of these mouth watering dim sum really had us drooling our saliva waiting to feast on them. It was a moment of elation and ecstatic that we finally had these dim sum right before our eyes.

Har Kau was bigger in size with each bigger than our 50 cents coin and the inside each Har Kau contained few pieces of shrimps. One thing we liked about the Har Kau was the shrimps had their intestines removed (the black lines at the back of the shrimp), giving the impression of nicer presentation not just outside but also inside the filling.

We were impressed with the effort taken to make the dish as best as they could.

Siew Mai was also bigger in size and relatively the same as Har Kau. The pork used was quite elastic and tender. This Siew Mai is so far the best we have tasted compared to the ones we had in Penang or KL. Even the skin did not harden so fast despite us dining in air conditioned room.

The century egg porridge was another thrill we enjoyed as well. The portions of century eggs had been quite generous that we had not just one but a few eggs within a bowl! And the best thing was, each egg was cut into 4 pieces and not into small pieces we have here.

Hong Kong Makan Trip, Hong Kong Dim Sum, Dim Sum, Hong Kong Food recommend by PenangTuaPui

That means you can actually eat the century egg satisfyingly as you put each spoonful into your mouth. Besides, the proportion of ingredients to porridge is almost equal; this means every spoon of porridge contained ingredients. Sounds delicious eh? Well, we’re not done yet :P

Other dishes we tried as well were chicken feet, char siew pau, char siew soh, spring roll, lor mai kai, egg tart, mango pudding and mango mochi.

The last two desserts were worth elaborating more. The mango pudding was very smooth and contained bits of mango inside. It also came with evaporated milk. Whether you add milk or not, the pudding tasted quite appetizing.

Hong Kong Makan Trip, Hong Kong Dim Sum, Dim Sum, Hong Kong Food recommend by PenangTuaPui

As for the mochi, it is coated with crated coconuts outside and had slice on mango inside as filling. This is rather a wonderful creation of mango mochi.

Eating dim sum in Hong Kong itself is a wonderful experience and a lasting impression that we were beginning to give local dim sum a second thought. It was just an unbeatable experience~!

Awww… how we missed the Hong Kong dim sum again.
