Yaki Teppan Japanese Restaurant
Written on 8:42 AM by Penang Tua Pui
We were occasional visitors to this place right even before we started blogging. Sometimes, we came here because the queue at the Hakka Mee shop was long with no seats available.
At times, we wanted to have reasonable set lunch without burning holes in the pocket, especially at certain time of the month. You know the feeling, right?
Yaki Teppan is located at Sungai Nibong, just right next to the overhead bridge leading to Pesta. The restaurant has average Japanese setting, mostly tables and chairs only with no tatami dining style available.
The restaurant has an area for teppanyaki cooking at one corner of the shop with some blinds put up, either to separate the teppan yaki area from dining area or to prevent fume from escaping to dining area.
If the purpose is for the latter, then it is not that effective after all. Fei Fei did not quite like the environment because it is smelly especially when the chef is cooking teppanyaki dishes.
This is actually an area to watch out for when dining in air-conditioned area. Some restaurants have good ventilation system and some not. The end result? Smelly shirts and pants :Þ
Food quality is average here and not much to boast. It is typical Japanese food that you will taste elsewhere also. We believed the attraction is more towards set meals pricing, at least to us. You pay a sum of money to get as much as possible
Prices range from RM9 to RM 30 for the set meals which include rice, miso soup, salad, tofu, dessert and the choice of your main dish. Oh yes, you can order green tea with refill without extra cost. Besides, the set meals, you can order some ala carte items as well.

I've been to this restaurant once. I also feel that the food there is so so nia. :-p
I like your photography skill. :)
hi Allie,
Yes, you are right :)
Food wise, this restaurant is just average and nothing to brag. But in terms of value for money, the set meals are worth talking. So if you are going for Japanese meals without burning a hole in pocket, you can give this shop a try :):)
OMGOMGOMG ya allah... i lurve Japanese food, it's in my soul and i love sashimi i can't live without it...
we went there very frequent and brought back those smelly stuff to our cub... always get complain... lolx
I blog about this place too, but was quite sometime ago in mylittlecottage.blogspot.com
This is not a bad place for economical Japanese set lunch. Most of my friend only have the smelly shirts and pants complaints. Other than that the food can be quite good depending on what you ordered.
Don't forget to visit my blog... I have a food contest from 31st July 2008 onwards.

yaya the price is cheap for japanese food. It has been a long time since the last visit there. I wonder if there's any new addition to the menu.
O yes, this has been long long time that i never been there. Not sure the food price still the same or not since the gas is up.
Yes, i just been there and the Japanese food price is very cheap if compare with other.
i didn't feel smelly shirts and may be i sit near to the entrance door.
