A prewar house that was converted into a restaurant serving ribs along Burmah Road, Ribs Barbeque Restaurant is the name.
This restaurant is located next to Giant Supermarket and near to New World Park.
It is easy to miss if you drive fast along this road and your best indication of reaching this place is when you see New World Park, it is time to slow down. Refer map below.
The ambience and decorations of this restaurant are quite minimal and nothing fancy. The sight of prewar house environment is still noticeable though renovations had been made to rejuvenate this area.
The table settings are also simple yet nice and elegant.
Ribs BBQ Restaurant serves Western and Mexican food as shown in their menu. You can place orders for tortilla, nachos, burrito or you can ask for house specialty – ribs. We ordered a baby back and barbeque combo as our choices.
The baby back ribs are grilled twice, first time after being rubbed with spices and second time after been dipped with honey BBQ sauce. Barbeque combo contains signature dish of ½ barbeque ribs and ¼ chickens in a serving. The chicken is charbroiled and basted in their original sauce.
The ribs tasted quite juicy and yummy but the chicken was a little too sweet. For the portion served relative to the price, it is quite worth the money spent.
The restaurant also has a wine cellar which you can order should you decide to dine with wine.

ya, we can consider that is the best in Penang. Fei Fei is the one who recommend us this restaurant... he really a fine dinning expert...
I (Huat Kuay)like the environment and ribs..
but next time, we would ask for a smaller rib (with shorter bone) one... that one nice.... yum yum...
